Online Heritage Cafes

(2026-27)

Curating online Heritage Cafes for the Argyll & Bute Museums & Heritage Forum. Each cafe features a speaker on aspects of the history of Argyll & Bute region and local efforts towards uncovering and documenting different aspects of this history. The cafes are typically held on the 4th Wednesday afternoon of every month. Every 3 months we also have an Open Cafe with discussions & short presentations on ground roots community heritage work by members of the ABMHF. The Heritage Cafe is funded by Museums & Galleries Scotland.

So far, the cafe themes have featured:

  • Mythology and oral folklore in Argyll with Dougie Strang

  • Community Outreach work of Inverrary Archives with Alison Diamond

  • History through the music & songs of Argyll with Dr Alasdair Whyte
