WEEKEND STORYTELLING WORKSHOP in Kilcreggan & Cove:
"What Stories Are You?"
Led by Tim PORTEUS, Storyteller
A workshop on how stories can root us in place and identity. We will explore the stories that have meaning to us and the places we live or have lived. How do we gather them, how do we weave them into our identity, how do we make them an inheritance for ourselves and others?
It will be led by storyteller TIM PORTEUS, who I regard as one of the finest storytellers in Scotland today.
About TIM PORTEUS:
Tim is a storyteller, completely unassuming but with decades of storytelling experience. He's a dad of five children (three grown up now.) He has used storytelling within his family & as a way to build community connections. He has worked extensively in schools, using storytelling to promote well-being and literacy. For the past 14 years he's written a weekly column called ‘Tim's Tales’ in his local newspaper The East Lothian Courier. He has published three books on local folktales for both adults and children.
Although he's a professional storyteller he doesn't see his storytelling as just a profession, but a way of living life.
