Rewilding Fairytales with Joanna Gilar (online course)

Rewilding Fairytales

Curated by Joanna Gilar

A 10 session online Advaya course starting 30th March 2026

Curated by Joanna Gilar and guided by scholars and storytellers including Cristina Bacchilega, Sophie Strand, and Seema Anand, this course explores the layered history of folk tales across cultures. You’ll encounter forgotten variants, unpack their patriarchal and animist roots, and trace how story shapes value systems across time. Moving from Europe to the Caribbean and India, you’ll discover how these tales can be reclaimed as ecological, relational narratives, offering new ways to think about gender, power, and our place in the more-than-human world.

I will be in discussion with Joanna on the topic of the WILD HEARTH IN FAIRYTALES.
